Steam
Bending wood is an ancient craft technique that was primarily developed and used by carpenters, wheelwrights, or boat builders. It produces hardly any waste compared to sawing.
The characteristics of the material are preserved.
Shape
After steaming, the hot wood is bent around the forms. After cooling, the wood must be clamped and dried for up to 14 days. Only then will it retain the desired shape.
Each piece turns out slightly different.
Time
The liveliness of the wood leads to the fine differences that we perceive as natural. This places high demands on the subsequent construction. Each connection is handcrafted.
Thus, each serial number creates a unique piece.
